1. Enter RTD through the Insert Function dialog box
Entry point: Formula tab → Insert Function, or the fx button in the formula bar
- Select the cell where you want to enter the formula.
- Click the
fxbutton in the formula bar, or click Insert Function on the Formula tab. - Search for
RTDin the Insert Function dialog box. - Select the function and click OK.
- Enter each parameter in the Function Arguments dialog box.
- Click OK to finish the formula entry.
Success Criteria
- On-screen result: The target cell contains the RTD function.
- What you can do next: You can continue editing parameters, copy the formula, or press Enter to confirm the result.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you do not select the target cell first, the formula may be entered in the wrong location.

2. Type the RTD formula directly in a cell
