1. Enter the function from the Insert Function dialog

Entry point: Formula tab → Insert Function

  1. Select the cell where you want to enter the formula.
  2. Click the fx button in the formula bar, or click Insert Function on the Formula tab.
  3. Search for RMB in the Insert Function dialog.
  4. Select the function and click OK.
  5. Enter the required parameters in the Function Arguments dialog.
  6. Click OK to finish inserting the function.

Success Criteria

  • The current cell now contains an RMB formula.
  • The cell displays the corresponding uppercase Chinese RMB result.
  • You can continue copying, filling, or editing the formula.

Tips While Using

  • Make sure the function name is entered as RMB.
  • Keep the parameter content consistent with the amount value or referenced cell.

2. Type the formula directly in a cell

Entry point: Cell or formula bar

  1. Select the cell where you want to enter the formula.
  2. Type =RMB(...) directly in the cell or formula bar.
  3. Press Enter to confirm.
  4. If you want to check parameter guidance, type =RMB( and then press F1 to view syntax help.

Success Criteria

  • The formula has been entered in the cell.
  • Pressing Enter returns a calculated result.
  • The formula can still be edited in the formula bar.

Tips While Using

  • The formula must begin with an equals sign.
  • Keep the parentheses and parameters complete.

3. Check syntax and parameter guidance

Entry point: Formula tab → Insert Function

  1. Click Insert Function on the Formula tab.
  2. Enter RMB in the search box.
  3. Select the function to view the syntax RMB(...).
  4. Click the help link for the function to view more details.

Success Criteria

  • The RMB function information view is open.
  • You can review the function name, syntax, and parameter prompts.
  • You can return to the worksheet and continue entering the formula.

Tips While Using

  • Checking syntax before entry can reduce formatting mistakes.
  • If the help window does not open, return to the Insert Function entry and try again.
