Why is my name marked as invalid after I enter it?

  1. Check whether the name starts with a number.
  2. Check whether the name contains spaces or special characters.

Why can’t some names be updated as expected for their reference?

  1. Open Name Manager and select the target name.
  2. Check whether the current name can be edited directly for its reference.

  4. Delete the original name and create it again with the new reference.

Where can I view the names of shapes or picture objects?

  1. Open the related find tools on the Home tab.
  2. Open the Selection Pane.
  3. View the names of shapes, pictures, and similar objects in the list.
  4. To rename a table or PivotTable, select the object first and then adjust it from the related toolbar.
