How to Use the IMSEC Function in WPS on Windows

1. Enter IMSEC from the Insert Function dialog

Entry path: Formula tab → Insert Function, or the fx button in the formula bar

  1. Select the cell where you want to enter the formula.
  2. Click the fx button in the formula bar, or click Insert Function on the Formula tab.
  3. Search for IMSEC in the Insert Function dialog box.
  4. Select the function and click OK.
  5. Enter the required parameters in the Function Arguments dialog box.
  6. Click OK to finish inserting the function.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The target cell contains the IMSEC function.
  • Next actions available: You can continue editing parameters, copy the formula, or review the calculation result.

Tips While Using

  • It is helpful to type the full function name IMSEC when searching.
  • Before confirming, check brackets and separators to reduce input mistakes.

2. Type the formula directly in a cell

Entry path: Cell → Formula bar

  1. Select the cell where you want to enter the formula.
  2. Type =IMSEC(...) directly in the cell or in the formula bar.
  3. Press Enter to confirm.
  4. If you want to review parameter guidance, type =IMSEC( and then press F1 to open syntax help.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The cell shows the calculation result, and the formula bar keeps the full formula.
  • Next actions available: You can fill down, copy and paste, or continue editing the formula.

Tips While Using

  • The formula must start with the equals sign =.
  • Keep separators in the correct format to avoid calculation errors caused by symbol issues.

3. Review function syntax and parameter details

Entry path: Formula tab → Insert Function

  1. Click Insert Function on the Formula tab.
  2. Type IMSEC in the search box.
  3. Select the function to review the syntax IMSEC(...).
  4. Click the help link for the function to open more details.
