1. Enter the function from the Insert Function dialog

Entry path: Formula tab → Insert Function

  1. Select the cell where you want to enter the formula.
  2. Click the fx button in the formula bar, or click Insert Function on the Formula tab.
  3. Search for COUPPCD in the Insert Function dialog.
  4. Select the function and click OK.
  5. Enter the required parameters in the Function Arguments dialog.
  6. Click OK to insert the function.

Success Check

  • Interface result: The target cell now contains a COUPPCD formula.
  • Next action: You can continue editing parameters, press Enter to confirm, or copy the formula to other cells.

Notes

  • Search with the function name COUPPCD.
  • Separate parameters with commas.

2. Type the formula directly in a cell

Entry path: Cell → Formula bar

  1. Select the cell where you want to enter the formula.
  2. Type =COUPPCD(...) directly in the cell or in the formula bar.
  3. Press Enter to confirm.
  4. If you want to review the parameter guidance, type =COUPPCD( and then press F1.

Success Check

  • Interface result: The cell shows the calculation result, and the formula bar keeps the full formula.
  • Next action: You can drag the fill handle or copy the formula to another range.

Notes

  • Confirm the parameter order before you submit the formula.
  • If the result looks wrong, check whether referenced cells contain valid dates or numbers.

3. View the syntax and parameter guidance

Entry path: Formula tab → Insert Function

  1. Click Insert Function on the Formula tab.
  2. Search for COUPPCD.
  3. Select the function and review the syntax: COUPPCD(settlement, maturity, frequency, [basis]).
  4. Click the help link for the function to open more details.

Success Check

  • Interface result: You can see the function name, parameter order, and syntax format.
  • Next action: You can return to the worksheet to enter the formula or adjust parameters after reviewing the help information.

Notes

  • basis is optional, so confirm the day-count basis you need before entering it.
  • A network connection is needed when opening online help.
