How-to Guide

1. Turn on Show Sum/Count

Feature path: Tools → View → Show Sum/Count

  1. Select the cell or range that you want to calculate.
  2. Tap Tools at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Open the View tab.
  4. Tap Show Sum/Count.
  5. Review the floating statistics bar at the top of the screen for Sum, Average, Maximum, Minimum, Count, Count Numbers, and Formula content.
  6. If needed, tap a result to copy it to the clipboard.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A floating statistics bar appears at the top of the screen.
  • What you can do next: You can review multiple statistics and copy a result.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If no cell or range is selected first, the statistics may not reflect the data you expect.
  • Environment note: Only valid numeric content can be included in automatic calculations such as Sum and Average. Cells with extra spaces or symbols may not be counted as numbers.

2. Turn off Show Sum/Count

Feature path: Tools → View → Show Sum/Count

  1. Tap Tools at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Open the View tab.
  3. Tap Show Sum/Count again to turn it off.
  4. Confirm that the floating statistics bar at the top of the screen is hidden.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The floating statistics bar no longer appears at the top of the screen.
  • What you can do next: You can continue editing the spreadsheet and use other view options.
