1. Enter the function from the Insert Function dialog

Entry path: Formula tab → Insert Function

  1. Select the cell where you want to enter the formula.
  2. Click the fx button in the formula bar, or click Insert Function on the Formula tab.
  3. Search for ARRAYTOTEXT in the dialog box.
  4. Select the function and click OK.
  5. Fill in the arguments in the Function Arguments dialog.
  6. Click OK to finish entering the function.

Success Criteria

  • On-screen result: The target cell contains an ARRAYTOTEXT formula.
  • What you can do next: You can continue editing arguments, press Enter to confirm, or copy the formula.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: A misspelled function name can make the function harder to find.
  • Argument entry: Fill in the arguments in the order shown in the dialog.

2. Type the formula directly in a cell

Entry path: Cell → Formula bar

  1. Select the cell where you want to enter the formula.
  2. Type =ARRAYTOTEXT(...) directly in the cell or in the formula bar.
  3. Press Enter to confirm.
  4. If you want to review the argument prompt, type =ARRAYTOTEXT( and press F1.

Success Criteria

  • On-screen result: The cell shows the formula result, and the formula bar keeps the full formula.
  • What you can do next: You can drag the fill handle to copy the formula to other cells.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Use English commas as argument separators. Chinese commas may cause the formula to fail.
  • Result check: Confirm the referenced range before copying the formula in bulk.

3. View the function syntax and argument details

Entry path: Formula tab → Insert Function

  1. Click Insert Function on the Formula tab.
  2. Type ARRAYTOTEXT in the search box.
  3. Select the function and review the syntax: ARRAYTOTEXT(...).
  4. Click the help link for the function to open more details.
