What should I do if I forget the password?

  1. Check whether you saved the correct password in a secure place.
  2. If you cannot provide the correct password, the PDF password cannot be recovered directly.

What is the difference between an open password and a permissions password?

  1. An open password controls who can open the document.
  2. A permissions password controls whether users can print, copy, or edit the document after opening it.
  3. You can set either one based on your sharing needs, or use both together.

Can I remove encryption after it is applied?

  1. Open the encrypted PDF file.
  2. Go to Protect and open Document Encryption.
  3. Enter the correct current password, then change or clear the password settings and save.
