How-to Guide

1. Open Certificate Management

Entry: Protect → Certificate Management

  1. Open the PDF file you want to work with.
  2. Click the Protect tab on the top menu bar.
  3. Click Certificate Management on the toolbar.
  4. Review the certificate list in the dialog box.
  5. Check the signature certificates, encryption certificates, and trusted certificates as needed.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The Certificate Management dialog opens and shows the certificate list.
  • Next action available: You can continue to add, delete, or review certificates.

Tips While Using

  • Membership: This feature is used in PDF editing workflows that require membership.
  • Common mistake: If no PDF file is open first, you may not reach the related certificate management workflow.

2. Add a Certificate

Entry: Protect → Certificate Management → Add

  1. Open the Certificate Management window.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Browse for the certificate file.
  4. Select a certificate in .pfx, .p12, or .cer format.
  5. Enter the certificate password if prompted.
  6. Confirm the import and check that the new certificate appears in the list.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The imported certificate appears in the certificate list.
  • Next action available: You can continue to use the certificate in later signing or encryption tasks.

3. Delete a Certificate

Entry: Protect → Certificate Management → Select certificate → Delete

  3. Click Delete.

  5. Return to the list and verify that the certificate has been removed.
