1. Insert Symbols
Entry: Text Editing tab → Symbol button
- Enter text editing mode and place the cursor where you want to insert the symbol.
- Click the Symbol button in the toolbar (Ω icon).
- In the symbol panel, choose the symbol category you need, such as math symbols, Greek letters, or special characters.
- Click the target symbol to insert it at the current cursor position.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The selected symbol appears at the current text position.
- Next action available: You can continue typing, insert more symbols, or save the document.
Tips While Using
- Permissions or membership: Editing PDF files requires WPS Premium.
- Common mistake: If you do not enter text editing mode first, you may not be able to insert a symbol into the document text.
- Environment limit: Text in scanned PDFs may not be directly editable, so OCR is recommended first.
2. Open the Symbol Dialog
Entry: Bottom of the symbol panel → Switch to symbol dialog
- Click the Symbol button to open the symbol panel.
- Click Switch to symbol dialog at the bottom of the panel.
- In the dialog, browse more symbols and related settings.
- Select the symbol you need and complete the insertion.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The symbol dialog opens and shows more symbol options.
- Next action available: You can continue browsing, selecting, and inserting the target symbol.
