When using WPS Strikethrough, 3 common issue types come up most often: unavailable buttons, removing strikethrough, and scanned PDF editing; this section covers 4 common questions.

FAQ

Why is the Strikethrough button grayed out?

  1. Make sure the file is open in WPS PDF.
  2. Open the Edit tab and enter Edit Content mode.
  3. Select the target text and check whether the Strikethrough button becomes available.
  4. If it is still unavailable, confirm that your account has access to PDF text editing.

How do I remove strikethrough after applying it?

  1. Select the text that already has strikethrough.
  2. Click Strikethrough again, or press Ctrl+Shift+X.
  3. Confirm that the text returns to normal, then save the file.

Can strikethrough be used together with other text formatting?

  1. Select the target text.
  2. Apply strikethrough, then add other formatting such as bold, italic, or underline if needed.
  3. Check the final appearance to make sure it matches your layout needs.

Why can’t I add strikethrough directly to a scanned PDF?

  1. Text in a scanned PDF is usually stored as an image instead of editable text.
  2. Run OCR first to convert the scanned content into editable text.
  3. After OCR is complete, enter Edit Content mode and apply strikethrough to the target text.
