- Select the markup types you want to display.
- Choose from Comments, Revision Options, Insertions and Deletions, Formatting, Reviewers, and Use Comment Boxes as needed.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The selected markup types remain checked in the menu.
- Next action available: The corresponding markup appears in the document according to your settings.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If a markup type is not selected, that type of review content will not appear.
- Environment note: The document needs existing comments or revisions for display changes to be visible.
2. Filter markup by reviewer
Entry: Review tab → Show Markup → Reviewers
- Click the Review tab.
- Click Show Markup and then Reviewers.
- Select the reviewer whose markup you want to display.
- To show everything again, select All Reviewers.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The target reviewer is selected in the reviewer list.
- Next action available: The document shows only that reviewer's markup, or all reviewers' markup if All Reviewers is selected.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If some reviewers are cleared, it may look like markup disappeared when it is only filtered out.
3. Switch markup display status
Entry: Review → Display for Review
- Click the Review tab.
- Click the Display for Review drop-down menu.
- Select the display status you need.
- Switch among Final Showing Markup, Original Showing Markup, Final, and Original.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The document view updates to the selected review state.
- Next action available: You can continue checking revised content, original content, or a markup view.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: Choosing Final or Original hides markup, but it does not remove the revisions from the document.
4. Show or hide specific markup
Entry: Review tab → Show Markup submenu
- Open the Show Markup menu from the Review tab.
- Select Comments to show or hide comments.
- Select Insertions and Deletions to show or hide revisions.

Success Criteria
- Interface result: The selected markup categories are shown or hidden based on the current check state.
- Next action available: You can continue refining the review view and keep only the information you need.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: After hiding one markup category, it may seem like content was removed when it is only hidden from view.
