- Continue editing the document. Later changes will be recorded.
Success Check
- Interface result: the Revision button is highlighted.
- What you can do next: insertions, deletions, and formatting changes appear as revision markup.
Notes
- Common mistake: if you start editing before turning on Revision, earlier edits will not be recorded.
- Environment note: this action needs to be done in a WPS Writer document with the Review tab available.
2. Turn Off Revision
Path: Review tab → Revision
- Open the document you are editing.
- Click Revision in the Review tab.
- Confirm that the button returns to its normal state.
- Continue editing. New changes will no longer be recorded as revision markup.
Success Check
- Interface result: the Revision button is no longer highlighted.
- What you can do next: you can keep editing the document, but new content is not added to the revision record.
Notes
- Common mistake: turning off Revision does not remove existing markup; earlier revisions remain visible.
3. View Revision Content
Path: revision markup in the document
- Open a document that already contains revision records.
- Check inserted content shown with colored underlines in the document body.
- Check deleted content shown with strikethrough markup in the revision area.
- Review formatting change information in the revision area on the right.
- Click or hover over a revision location to view reviewer-related information.
Success Check
- Interface result: insertion, deletion, or formatting-change markup is visible in the document.
- What you can do next: you can continue by changing display modes or moving into the next review step.
Notes
- Common mistake: if revision markup is not visible, check the current display mode first.
4. Change the Revision Display Mode
Path: Review → Display for Review
- Click the Review tab.
- Open the Display for Review drop-down menu.
- Select the display mode you need.
- Available options include Final Showing Markup, Original Showing Markup, Final, and Original.
- Return to the document and check the current display result.
Success Check
- Interface result: the document reflects the selected review display mode.
- What you can do next: you can compare different document states more easily.
Notes

5. Open Revision Options
Path: Review tab → Revision drop-down menu → Revision Options
- Click the Review tab.
- Open the Revision drop-down menu.
- Click Revision Options.
- Adjust revision markup, balloons, and print-related settings as needed.
- Save the settings and return to the document.
