1. Turn On Revision Mode

Entry path: Tools → Review → Start Revision

  1. Tap Tools at the bottom.
  2. Select the Review tab.
  3. Tap the Start Revision switch.
  4. Continue editing the document. Later edits will be recorded as revisions.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the Start Revision switch is on.
  • Next action available: insertions, deletions, and formatting changes can be kept as revision content.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: if you do not open the Review tab first, the revision entry may be hard to find.
  • Environment note: local editing does not require a network connection; sign in if you want to sync the document.

2. Show Revisions

Entry path: Tools → Review → Show Revision

  1. Tap Tools at the bottom.
  2. Select the Review tab.
  3. Turn on the Show Revision switch.
  4. Tap revision content in the document to view details in the pop-up window.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: revision marks are visible in the document.
  • Next action available: you can tap a revision to view its details.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: turning on Start Revision without turning on Show Revision may leave existing marks hidden.
  • Environment note: when there are many revisions, browsing on a mobile screen may be less efficient than on a larger display.

3. View Revisions in Classic Mode

Entry path: Tools → Review → View Comments and Revisions in Classic Mode

  1. Tap Tools at the bottom.
  2. Select the Review tab.
  3. Turn on the View Comments and Revisions in Classic Mode switch.
  4. View revision content in the pane that appears on the right side of the editing area.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: a revision viewing pane appears on the right side of the editing area.
  • Next action available: you can browse current document revisions in a more concentrated view.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: confusing Classic Mode with Show Revision may lead to a different viewing style than expected.
  • Environment note: on smaller screens, the side pane is more suitable for quick browsing than long review sessions.

4. Turn Off Revision Mode

Entry path: Tools → Review → Start Revision

  1. Tap Tools at the bottom.
  2. Select the Review tab.
  3. Turn off the Start Revision switch.
  4. Continue editing the document. New edits will no longer be recorded as revisions.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the Start Revision switch is off.
  • Next action available: you can continue editing normally without adding new revision records.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: after turning revision off, users may still expect new edits to keep revision marks.
  • Environment note: previously saved revision marks remain in the document unless they are handled later.
