How-to Guide
1. Turn on Brush
Entry path: Review tab → Brush
- Open a WPS Writer document.
- Click the Review tab on the top menu bar.
- Click Brush to turn on Brush mode.
- Confirm that the cursor changes to a brush shape, then start drawing.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The document enters Brush mode and related brush tools appear at the top.
- Next action available: You can continue by choosing a brush type, setting a color, and drawing.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If no document is open, you cannot start drawing in the page area directly.

2. Choose a Brush Type
Entry path: Review tab → Brush → Brush toolbar
- Turn on Brush first.
- Check the brush toolbar shown at the top.
- Choose Ballpoint Pen, Highlighter, Watercolor Pen, Shapes, or Eraser as needed.
- Continue working in the document with the selected tool.

3. Set Brush Color
Entry path: Review tab → Brush → Brush toolbar
- Turn on Brush and open the brush toolbar.
- Click the color selector.

- Return to the document and continue drawing.

4. Draw with Brush
Entry path: Document editing area
- Turn on Brush mode in the document.
- Move the pointer to the place you want to mark.
- Press and hold the left mouse button to draw on the document.
- Release the mouse button to finish one stroke.
- Repeat as needed to add multiple strokes.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: Ink content appears on the document page.
- Next action available: You can keep drawing, switch tools, or erase content.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you do not hold the left mouse button, a continuous stroke will not be created.
- Environment note: Handwriting input usually feels more natural on touch-enabled devices.
5. Exit Brush Mode
Entry path: Review → Brush → Close, or press Esc
- After drawing, click the close control in the Brush area.
- Or press Esc to exit Brush mode.
- Confirm that the cursor returns to normal selection status.

- Interface result: Brush mode ends and the cursor returns to normal selection status.
- Next action available: You can continue editing document text, selecting objects, or saving the document.
