1. Show or Hide Task Pane

Entry point: View → Show → Task Pane

  1. Open a WPS Docs document.
  2. Click the View tab on the top menu bar.
  3. Select Task Pane in the display options.
  4. Confirm that the Task Pane appears on the right side.
  5. To hide it, clear Task Pane again.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: The Task Pane appears or disappears on the right side of the document window.
  • Next actions: You can continue editing the document or switch to another panel inside the Task Pane.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: Opening the View tab without selecting Task Pane will not show the panel.

2. Show Task Pane from Preferences

Entry point: File → WPS Docs Preferences → View → Task Pane

  1. In WPS Docs, click the File menu.
  2. Select WPS Docs Preferences.
  3. Open the View settings.
  4. Select the Task Pane checkbox.
  5. Return to the document and confirm that the Task Pane is visible.

  • UI state: The Task Pane is visible on the right side after the setting is applied.

3. Use Feature Panels in Task Pane

Entry point: Show Task Pane first, then choose a panel inside it

  1. Show the Task Pane first.
  2. Click the panel you want to use inside the Task Pane.
  3. Switch to panels such as Styles and Formatting, Selection Pane, Properties, Beautification Assistant, or Help Center as needed.
  4. To adjust visible items, click Manage Task Pane and choose the items you want to display.
