How-to Guide
1. Show or Hide Table Gridlines
Entry point: View → Table Gridlines
- Open a WPS Docs document that contains a table.
- Click the View tab in the top menu bar.
- Select Table Gridlines to show the outlines of cells without solid borders.
- Clear Table Gridlines to hide the gridline display.
Success Criteria
- UI state: Cells without visible borders show or hide auxiliary dashed outlines.
- Next actions: You can continue editing the table, adjust borders, or open print preview.
- No side effects: Gridlines remain an editing aid and do not become printed borders by themselves.
Tips While Using
- Common mistakes: Mistaking table gridlines for actual table borders.
- Tip: If you need borders to print, add solid borders through the border settings.
- Scenario note: For borderless tables copied from other software, turning on gridlines makes cell ranges easier to identify.
