1. Enter Reading Format

Entry: View tab → Reading Format

  1. Open a document in WPS Writer.
  2. Click the View tab in the top menu bar.
  3. In the layout-related area, click Reading Format.
  4. The document switches to the Reading Format view.

2. Exit Reading Format

Entry: the Close control in the upper-right corner of the Reading Format interface, or the Esc key

  1. While in Reading Format, look at the upper-right area of the window.
  2. Click Close to leave Reading Format.
  3. If you prefer a keyboard shortcut, press Esc.
  4. The document returns to the standard page view.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The Reading Format interface closes and the standard page view returns.

  • Common mistake: If Esc does not respond, make sure the document window is still in focus.

3. Adjust Reading Format Settings

  1. Enter Reading Format first.
  2. Use the contents area or navigation tools to jump to a specific part of the document.
  3. Choose single-page, two-page, or adaptive display based on your reading preference.
  4. Show or hide comments as needed.
  5. Select content and apply highlighting to mark key points.
  6. Use the arrow keys or the mouse wheel to move through pages.
