1. Change the orientation of the entire document

Entry point: Page-related tab or layout controls → Paper Orientation

  1. Open the document you want to adjust in WPS Writer.
  2. Click the Paper Orientation drop-down menu in the page-related tab.
  3. Select Portrait or Landscape.
  4. Check whether the entire document updates to the selected orientation.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: All pages in the current document display in portrait or landscape consistently.
  • Next actions: You can continue editing, saving, or printing the document.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: If the file is not editable, page settings may not be available.

2. Change the orientation of selected content

Entry point: Select the target content → page-related settings → Paper Orientation or Page Setup

  1. Select the page content or paragraphs that need a different orientation.
  2. Open the page-related settings and go to Paper Orientation or Page Setup.
  3. Choose Portrait or Landscape in the orientation settings.
  4. Set the apply range to Selected text.
  5. Confirm the setting and check whether only the target part uses the new orientation.
