1. Open a second window for the same document
Entry point: top menu bar View tab → Open New Window
- Open the WPS Docs document you want to work with.
- Click the View tab on the top menu bar.
- Click Open New Window.
- Check whether a new independent window has been created for the same document.

- Next actions: You can continue browsing, editing, or saving the document in either window.

- Common mistakes: If no document is open first, you cannot use this feature to create a second window for the same file.
2. View different positions in two windows at the same time
Entry point: first complete Open New Window, then work in the two document windows
- Move each window to a different paragraph or page in the same document.
- Keep one window at the reference section.
- Continue viewing or editing the current section in the other window.
- Switch between the two windows as needed to compare content.

- UI state: The two windows show different positions in the same document.

3. Use Arrange All to organize multiple windows
Entry point: top menu bar View tab → Arrange All
- Create one or more new windows for the current document.
- Click Arrange All on the View tab.
- Choose a layout such as horizontal tiling, vertical tiling, or cascade.
- Continue viewing and editing the document in the new window layout.

- UI state: Multiple windows are arranged in the selected layout.
- Next actions: You can compare different parts of the document more clearly.

- Common mistakes: If too many windows are open, each window may become smaller, so reduce the number of windows when needed.
4. Close one window and keep the document open
Entry point: the close button in any open document window
- Confirm that multiple windows of the same document are open.
- Select the window you no longer need.
- Close that window.
- Return to the remaining window or windows and continue working.
Success Criteria
- UI state: The selected window closes, while the remaining windows stay open.
- Next actions: You can continue using the document in the remaining window.
- No side effects: Closing one window does not affect the other windows or the original document.
