1. Recognize a Formula by Camera
Entry path: Tools → Insert → Formula Recognition
- Place the cursor where you want to insert the formula in the document.
- Tap Tools at the bottom.
- Open Insert.
- Tap Formula Recognition.
- Point the camera at the formula you want to recognize and take a photo.
- Wait for the app to recognize the formula automatically.
- Preview the result and tap Insert into Document.
Success Criteria
- On-screen result: the recognized formula appears in the preview area.
- Next action available: after you tap Insert into Document, the formula appears at the current cursor position.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: blurry images, tilted angles, or poor lighting may affect recognition quality.
- Permissions or membership: this feature requires account sign-in and WPS Premium.
- Environment note: camera permission should be enabled before use.
2. Recognize from Photos or Files
Entry path: Tools → Insert → Formula Recognition
- Open the Formula Recognition screen in your document.
- Tap Photos or Files to add an image or file.
- Wait for the app to recognize the formula automatically.
- Preview the recognition result.
- Tap Insert into Document to finish.
Success Criteria
- On-screen result: the imported image or file enters the recognition flow normally.
- Next action available: after recognition, you can preview and insert the result into the current document.
