1. Paragraph Cleanup

Path: Home → Layout → Paragraph Cleanup

  1. Select the paragraphs you want to clean up.
  2. Click the Home tab.
  3. Open the Layout drop-down menu.
  4. Choose Paragraph Cleanup.
  5. Wait for WPS to remove extra blank paragraphs and optimize spacing automatically.

Success Criteria

  • Extra blank paragraphs in the selected content are reduced.
  • Paragraph spacing looks more consistent.

Tips While Using

  • Check the selected range first so you do not change content outside the intended area.

2. Paragraph Rearrangement

Path: Home → Layout → Paragraph Rearrangement

  1. Select the paragraphs you want to process.
  2. Click Layout on the Home tab.
  3. Choose Paragraph Rearrangement.
  4. Review the adjusted paragraph formatting.

Success Criteria

  • Paragraph formatting has been reorganized.
  • The document structure looks more orderly.

3. Hanging Indent Alignment

Path: Home → Layout → Hanging Indent Alignment

  1. Select the paragraphs you want to format.
  2. Click Layout on the Home tab.
  3. Choose Hanging Indent Alignment.
  4. Check whether the hanging indent effect has been applied.

Success Criteria

  • The first line and following lines show a hanging indent effect.

4. First-Line Indent by 2 Characters

Path: Home → Layout → First-Line Indent by 2 Characters

  1. Select the paragraphs you want to format.
  2. Open the Layout drop-down menu.
  3. Choose First-Line Indent by 2 Characters.
  4. Check whether the paragraph opening line now has a consistent two-character indent.

Success Criteria

  • The selected paragraphs now use a consistent first-line indent.

5. More Paragraph Processing

Path: Home → Layout → More Paragraph Processing

  1. Select the paragraphs you want to process.
  2. Click Layout on the Home tab.
  3. Open the More Paragraph Processing drop-down menu.
  4. Choose the option you need, such as converting to blank-line-separated style, converting line breaks to paragraph breaks, converting first-line indents to spaces, or adding blank paragraphs.

Success Criteria

  • The selected batch processing result has been applied as expected.

Tips While Using

  • Save the document before batch conversion if you want to compare the result afterward.

6. Delete Tools

Path: Home → Layout → Delete

  1. Select the paragraphs or document content you want to process.
  2. Click Layout on the Home tab.
  3. Open the Delete drop-down menu.
  4. Choose Delete Blank Paragraphs, Delete Initial Spaces, Delete Spaces, Delete Line Breaks, or Delete Blank Pages.
  5. If you need more options, click More Delete Tools.

Success Criteria

  • The selected blank paragraphs, spaces, line breaks, or blank pages have been removed.

7. Text Wrapping

Path: Home → Arrange → Text Wrapping

  1. Select the picture or shape you want to adjust.
  2. Click Arrange on the Home tab.
  3. Open the Text Wrapping drop-down menu.
  4. Choose the wrapping style you need.

Success Criteria

  • The wrapping relationship between text and the object has been updated.

Tips While Using

  • Select the object first before changing the wrapping style.

8. Align Objects

Path: Home → Arrange → Align

  1. Select multiple objects that you want to align.
  2. Click Arrange on the Home tab.
  3. Open the Align drop-down menu.
  4. Choose the alignment option you need.

Success Criteria

  • Multiple objects are aligned in the selected way.

9. Rotate Objects

Path: Home → Arrange → Rotate

  1. Select the object you want to rotate.
  2. Click Arrange on the Home tab.
  3. Open the Rotate drop-down menu.
  4. Choose the rotation option you need.

Success Criteria

  • The object direction has changed.

10. Group Objects

Path: Select multiple objects → Home → Arrange → Group

  1. Select the multiple objects you want to group.
  2. Click Arrange on the Home tab.
  3. Click Group.
  4. Check whether the objects can now be selected as one unit.

Success Criteria

  • Multiple objects can be moved or adjusted as one unit.

Tips While Using

  • Inline objects may need to be changed to a suitable object state before grouping.

11. Ungroup Objects

Path: Select a grouped object → Home → Arrange → Group

  1. Select the grouped object.
  2. Click Arrange on the Home tab.
  3. Click Ungroup.
  4. Check whether each object has returned to an independent state.

Success Criteria

  • The original grouped objects can now be edited separately.

12. Bring Objects Forward

Path: Home → Arrange → Bring Forward

  1. Select the object whose layer order you want to adjust.
  2. Click Arrange on the Home tab.
  3. Open the Bring Forward drop-down menu.
  4. Choose Bring Forward, Bring to Front, or In Front of Text.

Success Criteria

  • The object now appears on a higher layer.

13. Send Objects Backward

Path: Home → Arrange → Send Backward

  1. Select the object whose layer order you want to adjust.
  2. Click Arrange on the Home tab.
  3. Open the Send Backward drop-down menu.
  4. Choose Send Backward, Send to Back, or Behind Text.

Success Criteria

  • The object now appears on a lower layer.
