1. Use Format Painter once
Entry: Home tab → Format Painter
- Select the text or paragraph that already has the formatting you want.
- Click the Home tab on the toolbar.
- Click Format Painter.
- Use the brush cursor to select or drag across the target text.
- The target content will take on the same formatting.
Success Criteria
- The target text shows the same font, size, color, alignment, or related formatting.
- You can continue editing or save the document normally.
Tips While Using
- If you do not select the source content first, the copied formatting may not match what you expect.
- This workflow should be used in an editable WPS Writer document.
2. Use Format Painter repeatedly
Entry: Home tab → Format Painter
- Select the text or paragraph with the formatting you want to reuse.
- Click the Home tab.
- Double-click Format Painter to keep it active.
- Select or drag across each target area one by one.
- Press Esc when you are done.
Success Criteria
- Multiple targets receive the same formatting in sequence.
- Format Painter stays active until you exit it.
Tips While Using
- A single click usually applies the copied format only once.
- Press Esc after repeated use so later edits are not affected by mistake.
