1. Add bullets or numbering

Entry path: Home tab → Bullets and Numbering area

  1. Select the text you want to turn into a list.
  2. Open the Home tab.
  3. Choose a bullet or numbering style.
  4. If you want more styles, tap the three-dot icon to see more options.

Success Criteria

  • The selected text appears as a bulleted or numbered list.
  • The list style is applied to the current paragraphs.

Tips While Using

  • Select the target text first so you can apply the style in one step.

2. Promote numbering level

Entry path: Tools → Home tab → Promote numbering

  1. Select the numbered item you want to promote.
  2. Tap Tools.
  3. Open the Home tab.
  4. Tap Promote numbering.

Success Criteria

  • The current numbered item moves to a higher level.
  • The list hierarchy changes accordingly.

Tips While Using

  • Make sure the paragraph is already part of a numbered list before you promote it.

3. Demote numbering level

7. Remove bullets and numbering

Entry path: Tools → Home tab → Bullets and Numbering area

  1. Select the paragraph that already has bullets or numbering.
  2. Tap Tools.
  3. Open the Home tab.
  4. Tap the remove icon in the bullets and numbering area.

Success Criteria

  • The current paragraph returns to plain text.
  • The bullet or numbering marker is removed.

  • After removing list formatting, check whether paragraph indentation still needs adjustment.
