1. Insert WordArt from the ribbon

Entry point: Insert tab → WordArt

  1. Click the Insert tab on the ribbon.
  2. Click WordArt.
  3. Select the WordArt style you want in the preset area.
  4. Type your text in the pop-up text box.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: A new WordArt text box appears in the document.
  • Next actions: You can continue typing, moving, or selecting the WordArt object.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: If you do not open the Insert tab first, the WordArt button may not be visible.

2. Change an existing WordArt style

Entry point: Select an inserted WordArt text box → Text Tools tab → drop-down arrow on the right side of the WordArt Styles area

  1. Select the inserted WordArt text box.
  2. Click the Text Tools tab on the ribbon.
  3. Click the drop-down arrow on the right side of the WordArt Styles area.
  4. Select a new WordArt style from the list.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: The appearance of the selected WordArt changes.
  • Next actions: You can continue editing the text or switch to another style.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: If the text box is not selected first, the Text Tools styling area may not appear.
