1. Insert WordArt from the ribbon
Entry point: Insert → WordArt
- Open the document you want to edit.
- Click the Insert tab on the top ribbon.
- Click WordArt.
- Choose the style you want in the WordArt preset area.
- Type your text in the pop-up text box.
Success Criteria
- UI state: A new WordArt text box appears in the document and shows the text you entered.
- Next actions: You can drag, select, or continue editing the WordArt object.
Tips While Using
- Common mistakes: If you are not in an editable document, the entry may not be visible.

2. Modify an existing WordArt style
Entry point: Select the WordArt text box → Text Tools → drop-down arrow on the right side of the WordArt Styles area
- Select the inserted WordArt text box in the document.
- Click the Text Tools tab on the ribbon.
- Click the drop-down arrow on the right side of the WordArt Styles area.
- Choose the WordArt style you want from the list.
- If you need some preset template content, follow the on-screen prompt for the related membership action.
Success Criteria
- UI state: The selected WordArt object changes to the new style.
- Next actions: You can continue editing the text, position, or related styling.
Tips While Using
- Common mistakes: If the WordArt object is not selected first, the Text Tools area may not appear.
