1. Add an Underline

Entry path: ToolsHomeUnderline

  1. Open the document that you want to edit.
  2. Select the text that you want to underline.
  3. Tap Tools.
  4. Open the Home tab.
  5. Tap the Underline button with the U icon.

Success Criteria

  • The selected text shows an underline.
  • The text content itself does not change.
  • You can continue typing, saving, or applying other formatting.

Tips While Using

  • The underline color follows the current font color by default.
  • Select the target text before tapping the underline button.

2. Remove an Underline

Entry path: ToolsHomeUnderline

  1. Select text that already has an underline.
  2. Tap Tools.
  3. Open the Home tab.
  4. Tap the Underline button again.

Success Criteria

  • The existing underline is removed.
  • The text content stays the same.
  • Other existing formatting is not changed by this action.

Tips While Using

  • The same control is used for both adding and removing underlines.
  • If no text is selected, the app may not remove the underline from the intended content.

3. Type Continuously with Underline Formatting

Entry path: ToolsHomeUnderline

  1. Place the cursor where you want to type in the document.
  2. Tap Tools.
  3. Open the Home tab.
  4. Tap the Underline button so it becomes active.
  5. Start typing.

Success Criteria

  • Newly entered text appears with an underline.
  • The same formatting stays active while you continue typing.
  • You can tap the underline button again when you want to stop using that style.

Tips While Using

  • While you keep typing, new text automatically follows the active underline format.
  • When you finish, tap the underline button again if you want to return to normal text.
