1. Apply italic from the Tools panel

Entry path: Editing mode > Tools > Home > Italic

1. Open a WPS Writer document and enter editing mode.
2. Select the text that you want to format in italic.
3. Tap Tools in the bottom toolbar.
4. Open the Home tab.
5. Tap the Italic button or the I icon to apply italic formatting.
6. If you want to remove italic, tap the same button again.

Success Criteria

• Visual result: The selected text appears in italic style.
• What you can do next: You can keep typing, adjust other formatting, or save the document.
• No unwanted changes: Unselected text keeps its original style.

Tips While Using

2. Apply italic from the text-selection formatting entry

Entry path: Editing mode > Long-press text > Formatting entry > Home > Italic
