1. Quickly set up from Text Tools

Entry path: Select text in a text box → Text Tools tab → Text Outline

  1. Open your document in WPS Writer.
  2. Select the target text inside the text box.
  3. Click the Text Tools tab that appears at the top.
  4. Click Text Outline.
  5. Choose the color you want from the color panel.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected text shows an outline effect.
  • You can continue: You can keep editing text fill, font size, or other text effects.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you do not select the text first, the Text Outline button may not apply to the target text.

2. Set up from the task pane

Entry path: Select text → Task pane → Properties → Fill & Outline

  1. Open your document in WPS Writer and select the target text.
  2. In the task pane, click Properties.
  3. Open the Fill & Outline tab.
  4. Find Text Outline.
  5. Choose the color you want.
  6. Adjust transparency, width, and line type for a solid outline as needed.
  7. If you need richer styling, choose a gradient outline and adjust gradient stops, gradient type, or angle.
  8. Review the live result after the settings are applied.

3. Set up from the right-click Font menu

  4. Open Text Outline under the Fill & Outline tab.
