1. Quickly set up from Text Tools
Entry path: Select text in a text box → Text Tools tab → Text Outline
- Open your document in WPS Writer.
- Select the target text inside the text box.
- Click the Text Tools tab that appears at the top.
- Click Text Outline.
- Choose the color you want from the color panel.

- Interface result: The selected text shows an outline effect.
- You can continue: You can keep editing text fill, font size, or other text effects.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you do not select the text first, the Text Outline button may not apply to the target text.

2. Set up from the task pane
Entry path: Select text → Task pane → Properties → Fill & Outline
- Open your document in WPS Writer and select the target text.
- In the task pane, click Properties.
- Open the Fill & Outline tab.
- Find Text Outline.
- Choose the color you want.
- Adjust transparency, width, and line type for a solid outline as needed.
- If you need richer styling, choose a gradient outline and adjust gradient stops, gradient type, or angle.

3. Set up from the right-click Font menu

- Right-click the selected text and open Font.

- Open Text Outline under the Fill & Outline tab.
- Choose a solid line or gradient line.
- Adjust color, transparency, and line width.
- Click OK to apply the setting.
