WPS Tab Stops on Windows FAQ

Last updated:July 15, 2026

This FAQ covers 3 common questions about finding the feature entry, checking alignment results, and removing tab stops in WPS Writer.

FAQ

Why does pressing spaces not create the same alignment as tab stops?

  1. Spaces are affected by font and character width, so repeated spaces are harder to keep aligned.
  2. Tab stops place text at a defined position, which is more suitable for TOC lines, data columns, and structured layouts.
  3. For more stable alignment, select the paragraph and set tab stops from the Home tab.

What should I do if I do not see an obvious change after setting a tab stop?

  1. Make sure the target paragraph was selected.
  2. Check whether the tab stop position is large enough to produce a visible shift.
  3. Press Tab in the paragraph to test whether the text moves to the configured position.

How do I remove all tab stops from the current paragraph at once?

  1. Open the Tab Stop dialog box.
  2. Click Clear All.
  3. Click OK to save the change.
