1. Apply strikethrough from the ribbon
Entry point: Select text, open the Home tab, and click Strikethrough.
- Select the text that you want to mark.
- Click the Home tab on the ribbon.
- Click the Strikethrough button.
Success Criteria
- The selected text shows a single line through the middle.
- The text remains visible and editable.
Tips While Using
- Select the text first so the formatting result is easier to confirm.
- Click Strikethrough again to remove the format.
2. Apply strikethrough from the floating toolbar
Entry point: Select text, then click Strikethrough on the floating toolbar.
- Select the text that you want to mark.
- Wait for the floating toolbar to appear.
- Click the Strikethrough button on the floating toolbar.

- The selected text immediately shows the strikethrough effect.
- You can finish the task without switching to another menu.

- If the floating toolbar does not appear, use the ribbon or the right-click menu instead.
3. Apply strikethrough from the right-click menu

4. Apply double strikethrough from the right-click menu

5. Remove strikethrough
Entry point: Select text that already has strikethrough, then click the same strikethrough control again or clear the option in the Font dialog box.
- Select the text that already has strikethrough or double strikethrough.
- Click the same Strikethrough control again, or open the Font dialog box.
- Clear Strikethrough or Double strikethrough.
- Click OK to save the change.
Success Criteria
- The text returns to normal display without strikethrough.
- The original text content stays unchanged.
Tips While Using
- Removing strikethrough does not remove other formatting such as bold or italic.
