1. Show or Hide Paragraph Marks

Feature path: Home → Show/Hide Editing Marks → Show/Hide Paragraph Marks

  1. Click the Home tab.
  2. Open the Show/Hide Editing Marks drop-down menu.
  3. Click Show/Hide Paragraph Marks.
  4. When the option shows a check mark, paragraph marks appear in the document.
  5. Click the same option again to hide them.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: Paragraph-ending symbols such as ¶ appear or disappear in the document.
  • Next action available: You can continue editing, reviewing layout, or checking blank paragraphs.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Opening the menu without selecting the specific option will not change the display.

2. Show or Hide Paragraph Layout Buttons

Feature path: Home → Show/Hide Editing Marks → Show/Hide Paragraph Layout Buttons

  1. Click the Home tab.
  2. Open the Show/Hide Editing Marks drop-down menu.
  3. Click Show/Hide Paragraph Layout Buttons.
  4. When the option shows a check mark, the paragraph layout buttons are visible.
  5. Click the option again to hide them.
