1. Insert a Hyperlink
Entry point: Top menu bar > Insert > Hyperlink
- Select the text, image, or shape that you want to turn into a hyperlink, or place the cursor where you want to insert one.
- Click Insert in the top menu bar.
- Click Hyperlink to open the settings window.
- On the left side, choose the link type: Existing File or Web Page, Place in This Document, or E-mail Address.
- Enter the corresponding link content and click OK.
- To open the hyperlink window quickly, press
Control + K.
Success Criteria
- UI state: The selected text, image, or shape now has a clickable hyperlink.
- Next actions: You can save the document, test the jump, or edit the link again.
Tips While Using
- If you link to a web page, make sure the URL is complete.
- If you link to a place in the current document, prepare headings or bookmarks first.
- If you link to a local file, make sure the file is still in the original path.
2. Insert a Hyperlink from the Right-Click Menu
Entry point: Right-click menu > Hyperlink
- Select the text, image, or shape that you want to link, or place the cursor at the target position first.
- Right-click the selected content or editing area to open the context menu.
- Click Hyperlink.
- Enter the link content in the pop-up settings window.
- Click OK to finish.
Success Criteria
- UI state: After the context menu closes, the target content has a hyperlink.
- Next actions: You can immediately edit or open the link from the right-click menu.
Tips While Using
- If you do not select text or an object first, the result will be based on the current cursor position.
- This entry is useful when you want to add a hyperlink quickly without switching back to the top menu bar.
3. Manage a Hyperlink from the Right-Click Menu
Entry point: Right-click existing hyperlinked content
- Find the hyperlinked text, image, or shape in the document.
- Right-click the content to open the context menu.
- Choose Edit Hyperlink, Select Hyperlink, Open Hyperlink, Copy Hyperlink, or Remove Hyperlink as needed.
- If you choose Edit Hyperlink, update the content and click OK.
- If you choose Remove Hyperlink, only the link is removed and the original content stays in place.
Success Criteria
- UI state: The selected management action has taken effect, such as updating, copying, opening, or removing the hyperlink.
- Next actions: You can continue editing the document or insert a new hyperlink again.
