1. Add Text Highlight
Entry point: Tools → Home → Highlight
- Open the document you want to edit and select the text you want to highlight.
- Tap Tools.
- Tap the Home tab.
- In the Highlight area, choose the highlight color you want.
- If you need more colors, tap the ··· icon on the right.
Success Criteria
- UI state: The selected text shows the chosen highlight background color.
- Next actions: You can continue editing text or repeat the same steps for other text.
- No side effects: The original text content is not deleted when the highlight is applied.
Tips While Using
- Common mistakes: If you do not select text first, you may not see the expected highlight result.

2. Remove Highlight
Entry point: Tools → Home → Highlight
- Open the document and select text that already has a highlight.
- Tap Tools.
- Tap the Home tab and find the Highlight area.
- Select No Color (the ∅ icon) to remove the highlight.
Success Criteria
- UI state: The selected text returns to a no-highlight background state.
- Next actions: You can choose another color again or continue editing the text.
- No side effects: The text content and existing layout remain unchanged.
Tips While Using
- Common mistakes: If the highlighted text is not selected, the removal action will not affect the target content.
