1. Turn bold on from the ribbon

Feature entry: Home tab → Bold button

  1. Open your document and select the text you want to format.
  2. Click the Home tab at the top of the window.
  3. Click the Bold button in the font area.
  4. Click the same button again if you want to remove bold.

Success Criteria

  • The selected text appears in bold.
  • Clicking again returns the text to normal weight.
  • The text content itself is not deleted or replaced.

Tips While Using

  • Select the text first before applying bold.
  • If the change is hard to notice, check whether the current font supports a clear bold style.

2. Turn bold on from the floating toolbar

Feature entry: Select text → floating toolbar → Bold button

  1. Select the text you want to format in the document.
  2. Wait for the floating toolbar to appear near the selection.
  3. Click the Bold button on the floating toolbar.
  4. Click it again if you want to remove bold.

Success Criteria

  • The selected text changes to bold immediately.
  • You can continue typing or apply other styles in the same place.

Tips While Using

  • The floating toolbar usually appears after text is selected. If it does not appear, use the ribbon instead.
  • This method is convenient for quick formatting of short text selections.

3. Turn bold on from the right-click menu

Feature entry: Right-click menu → Font → Font Style → Bold

  1. Select the text you want to make bold.
  2. Right-click the selected text to open the context menu.
  3. Open the Font option.
  4. In Font Style, choose Bold.
  5. Click OK to save the setting.

Success Criteria

  • The text appears in bold style.
  • The applied style remains after the font dialog closes.
