1. Apply Italic from the toolbar

Entry path: Edit mode → Tools → Home → Italic

  1. Select the text that you want to format in italic.
  2. Tap Tools in the bottom toolbar.
  3. Open the Home tab.
  4. Tap the I icon to apply Italic.
  5. Tap the I icon again if you want to remove Italic.

Success Criteria

  • Visual result: The selected text appears in italic style.
  • Next action available: You can continue typing, saving, or applying other formatting.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If no text is selected first, the command may not affect the intended content.
  • Font difference: Some Chinese fonts show a weaker italic effect than Latin fonts.

2. Apply Italic from a long-press text selection

Entry path: Edit mode → Long press to select text → Format → Home → Italic

  1. In editing mode, tap the target text area.
  2. Long-press the text and drag the selection handles to adjust the range.
  3. Tap Format in the floating toolbar.
  4. In the Home tab, tap the I icon.
  5. Confirm that the selected text is now italicized.

Success Criteria

  • Visual result: The selected range appears in italic style.
  • Next action available: You can continue changing font, size, color, or other text settings.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: An inaccurate selection range may leave part of the text unchanged.
