1. Identify the Editing Area
Entry: the central document display area after you open a PDF file
- Open WPS PDF and load the PDF file that you want to review.
- Look at the center of the window and locate the largest content area.
- Confirm that the current PDF page is displayed in that area.
- Use this area as the main workspace for later browsing and editing steps.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the current PDF page is visible in the center of the window.
- Next action available: you can continue browsing pages or enter edit mode.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: confusing the sidebar or toolbar with the main document workspace.
- Permissions or membership: editing PDF files requires WPS membership access.
2. Browse the Document
Entry: the vertical scrollbar on the right side of the Editing Area, or mouse and keyboard actions inside the Editing Area
- Move the pointer into the Editing Area.
- Scroll the mouse wheel up or down to move through the document.
- Drag the vertical scrollbar on the right side if you need to move faster.
- Press Page Up or Page Down to browse page by page.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the visible page content changes as you scroll or page through the file.
- Next action available: you can continue locating the target page and review its content.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if the pointer focus is not in the document area, the mouse wheel may not control page scrolling.
- Environment note: very long or large files may respond more slowly while loading.
3. Edit Document Content
Entry: Home tab > Edit Content
- Open the target PDF file and click the Home tab.
- Click Edit Content to enter editing mode.
- In the Editing Area, click the text, image, shape, or other element that you want to modify.
- Make the required changes.
- Click Exit Editing when you finish.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: after edit mode is enabled, editable elements on the page can be selected.
- Next action available: you can continue editing other elements or exit editing mode and save the file.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if you do not enter Edit Content first, clicking page elements may only let you view them instead of editing them.
